Coldest "Fourth"

We were lucky enough to be able to celebrate the Fourth of July here in Canberra. The celebration was held early because the kids were all about to start their winter holiday break and most families would be out of town. So we celebrated the "Fourth of July" in June.  It was definitely the coldest Fourth I've experienced with temperatures in the 40s. The other thing that was really different is that since it is winter here it gets dark SO much earlier.  The fireworks went off around 5:30-5:45ish. It was kind of nice to be honest to be done so early.  I don't know if I prefer melting in the summer heat or needing jackets and hats.  Too bad it couldn't be in spring or fall.....

Here are some pictures from our coldest "Fourth"
